Joy Fold Card
7/30/2008 10:46:36 AM
I really wanted to post something before I went away on the Inklings Team Weekend.  I'm leaving for Sydney tomorrow afternoon and will be away until Monday, so won't be posting anything until Tuesday.  And hopefully I'll come back from a weekend of nothing but stamping, scrapping and chatting with lots of great cards and projects to show you.

But in the meantime, here's a card I made this morning, it was such a fun card to do and so easy.  There's a great tutorial here on Splitcoast.
And how much do I love these Fall Flowers paper, it's so pretty.  I'm fast running out of the packet I have. :-)

Ohh and other exciting news, the new Spring Mini starts on Friday! YAY! So much wonderful new stuff.  More rubons, paper, stamp sets and accessories.  And the fantastic news, ALL stamp sets are Die Cut!  Yes that's right, no trimming of the rubber for any of these sets.

Anyway here's the card, hope you like it.  :-)

Materials Used
Stamp Set - Garden Whimsy
Inks - Really Rust, Jet Black StazOn, Old Olive
Cardstock - Old Olive, Saraha Sand, Fall Flowers Designer Paper
Accessories - Scallop Punch, 1 1/4 Circle Punch, 1 3/8 Circle Punch

Dream Layout

Just a very quick post today, I've been meaning to do this for a couple of days.  My wonderful friend Dawn sent me a a bunch of non-chocolate goodies (as she so elegantly put it) for my birthday.  And I just had to use them the day I got them.  I had these great looking photos of my daughter I wanted to use as well.  So here it is.

I really loved creating the background with my So Swirly wheel, it looks so nice.  And was so quick to do.

Wild Saraha

One more day to go!  One more day and the kids go back to school and I'll be able to get in a craft to my hearts content lol.  I love spending the time with my children, but I love it when they go back to school as well   And my husband has been on holidays with us for a week too so that's been lovely, spending quality time just hanging out as a family is few and far between nowadays, so we grab as much time together as we can.

But I did manage to get in some time this morning, the kids are happily playing, and DH has gone to golf with his dad.   So I whipped this lovely card up, it took a whole new different turn to how it started out but I really like it.  And I think I've found a new favourite colour combination, Saraha Sand and Wild Wasabi, very yummy.

Hope you like it. :-)

Materials Used
Stamp Set - Priceless, So Swirly Jumbo Wheel
Cardstock - Wild Wasabi, Saraha Sand, Basic Black
Inks - Wild Wasabi
Accessories - Black Grosgrain, 1 3/8th" Circle Punch, Scallop Punch, Notch Punch

7th Birthday Layout
7/11/2008 3:57:32 PM
Amazingly enough I actually managed to scrap a layout yesterday.  I ordered some photos from Snapfish.com and just had to scrap a set straight away.  And the fact it was a cold and windy day here and the kids are sick so are doing nothing but curling up in bed and watching DVD's, it was a perfect excuse to get some done.

You'll have to excuse the bad photography, it's still really windy here and trying to get a good shot was pretty much pot luck lol.

One thing I did like doing with this layout was creating the centre patterned paper piece with the scallop edge, I just love how it looks.

Materials Used
Stamp Set - Priceless
Cardstock - Old Olive, Petals and Paisley Designer Paper, Very Vanilla, Bashful Blue
Inks - Old Olive
Accessories - Corner Rounder, Purely Pomegranate Stitched Ribbon, Chipboard, Scallop Punch

July Inklings Cyberstamp
7/8/2008 3:03:40 PM
Another month has rolled around which means another Inklings Cyberstamp, these always get me thinking and creating way outside my box.  I really enjoyed doing these, and as usual, so far I've only done 2 of the 3 challenges lol.  But it will be done.

The first challenge was a pyramid box, I took the easy way out and just covered with designer paper and added a little stamped image.  But I still liked the way it turned out.

The 2nd challenge was a colour challenge, now this lived up to it's name as a challenge, the colours were Ballet Blue, Soft Sky, Not Quite Navy, Pink Passion and Really Rust.  I don't think I was the only one who went "Holy Cow! How on earth am I going to do that!"  But I did, and I quite liked how it turned out too, and I got to practice some watercolouring, I've always loved colouring my images and don't do it as much as I used to.

So here they are.

Love Notes Mini Album
7/3/2008 10:04:30 AM
Well I guess it should be a very mini album, I've used one of the Love Notes Cards to make this cute little album.  And once again I've used the beautiful Fall Papers, I'm really really loving the designs of all the Scrapbooking paper in this years catalogue, and you should see the yummy ones in the new Spring Mini that comes out in August.
(Oh was that a teaser.........)

I said in my newsletter that I'd put the instructions up for this yesterday, although I did get sidetracked with Canteen at my kids school. And was way too tired to even think last night.  But after a good nights sleep here it is.

Cut a 3inch strip of 12x12 scrapbooking paper, double sided is probably the best.

Cut the strip into 3 inch squares.

Starting with the first square, decorate it like a mini layout, here I've used a 3 inch x 1 3/4 inch strip of Soft Sky and tied a piece of Vanilla Taffeta under the photo.  I've then attached it to the front of the card leaving a 2mm gap, this means that the square will overlap the card as well, but this is good.

For the 2nd Square I've printed a quote on Whisper White and stamped the butterfly from Priceless in Soft Sky over the top.   Attach the same way as the first square.

For the 3rd Square, I've cut photo corners by using the scallop punch, all you do is thread a piece of cardstock into the scallop punch adjusting to how big you'd like the corners.  Make sure you use the corner of a piece of cardstock to give you a nice straight edge.  Attach as per the other squares.

The last square was easy, just the last piece of paper.

How cute would these be to make little Christmas Gifts or party favours, and each pack of Love Notes come with mini envelopes too.  Although if you are going to use the envelopes you won't be able to use thick embellishments on the cards.

But I hope you like it as much as I do.
